Tsukune Meal

I been busy spending money buying n buying stuff.. but yet haven got a chance to use them...
Finally I decided today I shall use 1 of my new toys... Bought the jap bento box(es) from CK Tangs some weeks ago with baking pal turn friend (end up she was late to pick her boy fr sch haha.. oops), and decided I shall grill some Tsukune balls since Dear also requested for Onigiri.

Was quite a task for me to do the Tsukune today thou it was relatively simple... Mor elike becos I haven got the sake n mirin at home and went all the way out just to buy all the ingredients..
Oh well.. for a start im not a Tsukune fan... cos I alwasy think the balls is way too mashy/soft for mi.. but anyway.. try lar.. n see how... hehe

Spent a little time rolling the minced meat into balls, boiling them... skewering them on my metal skewers... and grilling them... Oh yes I used my new grill pan to grill these too! so I am using like 2 new toys today... Thanx to my pal who help me lug it back when she saw it..

I had a hard time getting the whitish chicken ball turn brown... I keep brushing the gravy over it but it doesnt seem to turn brown like Tori Q ones... finaly I decided to jus pour everyth gont he pan and let it simmer...adding water in between when the gravy was about to dry up. Bubbling in the process.. i think it works! YIPEE! But I tink I prob will make double portion fo this gravy nxt rnd as I think I din have enuff of it to ge the shiny on my Tsukune..

Aft a long time (I think 45 mins) finaly I got everythg done to what I wanted... including grilling some snow peas n carrots as well... Phew...

And here goes

Tsukune

As usual.. i still find it a bit too mashy for me haa.. freezing the remaining Tsukune as life savign device when i am hungry...

Then here comes my onigiri...
At my usual marketing day at Isetan last week, this lady was selling the rice mix.. which of cos I bought 1 pack to try... Its a bit like those furikake.. but its the wet version... contains carrot, lotus roots and mushroom... din get to sample it there.. but the lady was kind of nice n friendly and so I tot just buy a pack to try...

I mix them up with sushi rice and make them into onigiri as requested...

Onigiri

Oh well.. it does taste good... I tink I love it LOL... Forgot to sprinkle on the sesame and nori thou... Yummm
